ANTI-AGING PLAN, STAYING FOREVER YOUNG

Posted: July 22, 2011

Things that age us too quickly need to be eliminated. Aging has many negative connotations to most, but you can be in charge of how you age, and how “quickly” you do it. Stress, poor diets, smoking, too much alcohol and sweets, and the biggest culprit of all, not exercising are the surest way to a weak, unhealthy future! When we live a sedentary lifestyle, we get slower, fatter, depressed, and maybe even angry that we are aging. A lifestyle like this also lowers your immune system, prevents quality sleep, and makes you feel aged, and maybe even ill. Take charge of your health NOW. Every day really does matter. We all know of someone that makes terribly unhealthy life choices, and we can usually predict where those choices will take them. Don’t let that be you!

I plan on living to be at least 100! A very vital 100 at that. Did you notice the key word here. PLAN.

I EAT for vitality and strength.
I SLEEP for muscle growth, immune enhancement, and for my whole body to recuperate from all the “good stress” I put it through!
I WORK OUT for strength, and balance in my muscles and bones,  my brain, heart, and lungs.

Doing all of this keeps me fit, energized, and feeling much younger than my actual years. I want lots of time on this Earth, and I want to experience it to it’s fullest potential. I want to be a participant, not someone that watches “younger” people doing things.

There are a few factors that if you change now, you will set yourself up for a long, vital, healthy life! Even by making a few changes, every so often, you can start to feel the rewards, and the energy your body was meant to have!

DIET and SUPPLEMENTS
There are superfoods that multi-task. See previous posts, and learn about them.
Organic lean meats, dairy, fruits and vegetables, free of antibiotics, and pesticides should be the main part of your diet.
Lean proteins will repair, and build your muscles.
Complex carbs for energy and fiber.
Greek yogurt for calcium, digestion, and as a great protein source.
Ezekiel, and Sprouted grain products for fiber, and energy.
Green Tea for anti-cancer properties.
Tart Cherry Juice, and Fish Oil to ward off heart disease, and inflammation
Ground Flax and Chia seeds, for digestion, skin and organ health, and also to calm inflammation.

STRENGTH TRAINING
Building muscular strength to ward off falls.
Lifting weights, and core conditioning to maintain good posture, and balance.
Cardio, and circuit training to keep body fat levels low, and heart health high.

SLEEP and RECOUPERATION
The body grows and repairs itself while at rest. You are NOT building your muscles while in the gym, only when sleeping.
Numerous studies are now showing that less than 7 hours of sleep per night is a big predictor to weight gain, and difficulty in shedding fat.
Meditation, and Yoga, or relaxation time before bed has shown to have immune enhancing properties. Make this a part of your daily wind down for more restful sleep.
Calming music, and massage can also have this affect.

We all lead lives that have us burning the candle at both ends. Be sure your habits, and choices keep the candle burning very brightly during the day, and put the candle out at night!

Start making the right choices today. You will be so much more alive tomorrow!! Check out Nicholas Perricone’s book on Anti- aging. He gives very specific steps to feeling, and looking great, now, and in the future!
