Beauty Tips During Covid-19

We all know that when we look better, we feel better. Now I know this is an odd time to talk about how we look. But think about this for a minute before you think that I’m shallow! Beauty Tips During Covid-19 may create a happier environment for you!

So…I say…look good, feel good and keep the positive mindset going!

If you’ve ever had a bug, or had surgery, or went through a tough mental time. What one thing made you feel great? 

Your first shower.  The first time you can get your hair done. And, first time you can put on make-up.

 
Remember the first time you got a pedicure! (I just gave myself one yesterday and it made me feel good!) 

There is something about being able to take care of yourself that makes us happy and FEEL good. 

That’s why I’m sharing Beauty tips During Covid-19.

Let’s forget about sad things for a moment. Get back to those times that let your mind feel good while you do something that makes you happy.

I want you to do something for YOU today…so here are a few tips to get you through this time!  

ABOVE ALL, STAY SAFE…BUT KEEP YOUR MIND HAPPY TOO!

1. Give yourself a pedicure!  Doesn’t have to be a professional one! Just take off the old polish, and trim your nails. Next, use a loofa or some buffing body wash to get off the yukky skin. Then polish your nails!

All of us have some polish around…right? May not be “the best” but my toes look SO much better. Plus, it made me FEEL GOOD! 

2. Give yourself a facial!   Take off all of your make-up and use a washcloth with a cleanser. Rub in circles to stimulate the blood flow and remove dead skin. Rinse with cool water. Use a vitamin C Serum that stimulates collagen, revives tired and dull skin, increases blood flow and restores your “glow”.(I LOVE THIS ONE HERE!) 

Next, apply a good moisturizer and massage into the skin. Be sure to do this from your cleavage up in upward strokes! And, be sure to follow up with a natural sunblock to protect your skin.

 3. Do a workout! 

It can be one that is simple but effective. Do a workout that uses your largest muscles and gets your blood flowing. One that also gets your lungs breathing deep.

Or take a brisk walk and really pump your arms if you’re able to get outdoors! You can even use canned goods if you don’t have weights. I recommend that if you DO have weights, to use them.

NOW is the time to prepare your body for aging by getting stronger! If you suffer from hormonal issues, try not to put on any weight during this time. Click here for my program that you can do at home!

4. Create your own hair treatment. Blood flow is essential for all cells, and this is a great technique you can do while stuck indoors.Wash and towel dry hair.Warm up 4 tbsp. of olive oil in a microwave safe dish. (about 20 seconds is good, don’t make it too hot!)

With your head held upside down…dip your fingers into the oil and massage into your scalp! The blood flow with the massaging action will revive your scalp and bring blood flow to your roots. (even if they are gray…but more on that in a minute!) 

Now, stand up slowly and use the remaining oil, and comb it slowly and gently down the rest of your hair to your ends. 

Next, wrap your head in a old t-shirt, or bandana, and keep the oil in overnight, or for a couple of hours. 

** IMPORTANT!   WASH OUT IN THE SHOWER BY PUTTING SHAMPOO ON BEFORE YOU GET YOUR HAIR WET AND BE CAREFUL TO WASH 2 X. THE SHOWER MAY BE SLIPPERY SO THAT’S WHY YOU WANT TO BREAK DOWN THE OIL BEFORE YOU ADD THE WATER!

5. Cover your gray roots with eyeshadow!**

It’s one of my favorites besides the vitamin C Serum

Take a makeup brush and dip it generously into an eyeshadow. Browns are best, and just do the part.  Dab the brush on the bottom of the sink to get it slightly damp. Dab the brush into the shadow and then onto the part from the front to the back.
Is this perfect? NO! LOL… 

However…it sure camouflages the roots better than having nothing, and until you can get to your stylist when it’s safe!

When times are tough, we usually look in the mirror and feel horrible.  

Take a minute today, and give yourself a mental break…
