Benefits of Strength Training for Women

Women spend many years of their lives, trying to lose weight. Most of them try cutting calories, or doing some form of aerobic exercise. And then, the majority of them state “proudly” the name of the diet they are following. As a gym owner and female fat-loss coach, I’m going to tell you that the benefits of strength training for women, will get results faster than any diet.

First of all, let’s talk about the negative aspects of dieting. During a calorie-cutting, or food-omitting diet, you will feel deprived and unhappy. Most women will focus on what they wish they could eat, or what they cannot eat. All negative…and usually short-lived.

Secondly, when you cut out too many calories, you will end up losing muscle. With even a little bit of muscle loss, you’ll end up having a slower metabolic rate….the LAST think any woman wants. This slower metabolic rate is now the reason you gain the weight back by simply adding in regular meals again.

Now, let’s talk about the benefits of strength training for women, as it relates to weight loss, and the shape of your body.

When you add in even 2 or 3 pounds of muscle, you raise your resting metabolic rate. This forces your body to burn calories even while you’re sitting watching TV! Besides having a faster metabolism, you also have a stronger, more shapely, and firmer body.

Who wants to weigh less, and be flabby with a pancake butt? Not me for sure! And, I’ll bet, not you.

What we all should strive to be is leaner, stronger, with a flatter belly, and a more shapely figure with great posture!
