Can you drink alcohol and still be healthy?

Posted: December 29, 2022

You may think it’s odd for a nutrition and exercise buff to talk about drinking. Well, the truth is that people put me on a “pedestal” thinking I never indulge. When they hear I drink sometimes, they ask …”Can you drink alcohol and still be healthy?”

The great news is that you can follow an 80/20 rule. This is when you eat very clean and mindfully 80% of the time. For the other 20% of the time, you can indulge, have some desserts, eat a burger and fries, and drink alcohol and still be healthy.

Of course, many have too many calories coming from alcohol. There are also the ones that aim for a drink or two…and suddenly, they are on their fifth.

The truth is that your liver does play a huge part in how much fat you store, your energy levels, and how big your belly is.

However, it isn’t just a new diet that you need or a new exercise program.

You certainly do NOT have to completely give up the pleasure of having a drink or two with friends to be healthy.

Now, if you drink excessively, that is another story, and I urge you to think of your lifelong health.

If you are like me and love a glass of wine or two during the week with a meal great. I love to go out for cocktails with girlfriends, but try to make it a special occasion, and not an every night event.

If you think you drink too much, then your liver probably DOES need help, and it could be the reason you are lacking energy, or cannot control your weight.

I want to tell you about my great friend Georgia who lives in Australia and is the mother of young triplets, and she’s over 50!

She is a hypnotherapist that specializes in drinking LESS, and is behind this amazing program below.

(As if triplets and a full-time career aren’t a reason to need a glass of wine! LOL)
Georgia is the person that I asked, “Can you drink alcohol and still be healthy?”

It was important to me to know, because I am in the health industry, and I do take several supplements daily for liver detoxification. Not just for drinking, but for all toxins.

Toxins play a massive role in your overall health and ability to lose weight, but the drinking was what worried so many of my clients.

I know the holidays are a time to overindulge. Stress and anxiety some of us have one too many, and we need someone who can coach us into better habits.

Please check out Georgia’s successful program to simply cut back on drinking. Enjoy the season…spend fun times with those you love…but keep your health mindfully in check!
