Many have asked, “What is the best time of day to exercise?” Although any type of exercise is better than none…exercise in the morning to burn more fat.
Scientists have done studies for decades to see the body’s physiological response to training. They have looked at whether shorter or longer sessions are better. They’ve looked at cardio versus strength training – and compared high protein, to low fat to name a few.

Exercising in the morning targets more “fat-expressing” genes. Not only does this happen at a more intensive rate earlier in the day, but it seems to last longer than when tracked at night. What seems to be the reason is the way our body is geared towards our sleep-wake cycle.
If you workout later in the day, or even at night, your body is ready for rest, and relaxation. The fat-burning capacity may actually also be ready for rest as well.
One of the best methods to target stored fat is to work out in a fasted state.
