Reviving your sluggish metabolism

As we age, one of the biggest complaints I get as a wellness coach is that women are too tired to lose weight, because they are lacking energy. When we are not eating right, sleeping well, or are too stressed, we have a metabolism that shows all of that. Reviving your sluggish metabolism is simple when you break it down into daily steps.

One of the biggest mistakes I see as a gym owner, and wellness coach, is that women set too lofty of goals. They decide that they need to lose 40 pounds without a timeline, or steps. Most of them try to lose weight by cutting extreme amounts of calories and going for a run a couple of days per week.

What they end up with is joint pain, fatigue, starvation, and despair.

I know. When I was in my late 20s, I did the same thing to the point of adrenal fatigue.

No meal was eaten unless I knew I could burn it off with the next workout.

Low fat was the key. More cardio was the way. Starving was what made you mad… and made you binge.

None of those was the right way to lose weight for more than a week.

  • Engage your muscles so that you place a demand on them that they are not used to.
  • Eat for energy. Moderate to high protein is key, complex carbs for energy, water to hydrate every cell, and sleep for recovery.
