Answers to questions about Thyroid disorders

Posted: November 3, 2018

The thyroid is a small but powerful gland that controls many systems.  Hypothyroidism is one of the most misunderstood disorders of the thyroid. Whether you have seen your primary care doctor or an endocrinologist, I know you want answers to questions about thyroid disorders.

If it were only that simple. The thyroid is considered a “master gland” to many integrative healthcare specialists. Every system and gland has something to do with your thyroid. From the pituitary gland to your liver, your metabolic rate to your heart rate…the thyroid is small but responsible for a lot!

Unfortunately, not all healthcare practitioners see eye to eye when it comes to how to treat concerns. From which tests to take, to what is normal, it seems the answers are all across the board.

My mother was diagnosed over 40 years before me with hypothyroidism. Even though it is thought to be hereditary…I had to seek alternative care to finally be heard about my thyroid disorders. My doctor that I was seeing when I started to have common symptoms…said all of my bloodwork was “normal”.

If you are a woman over 40, then you know that every day is not the same when it comes to fatigue, weight gain, moods or brain capacity.

You know that when something is not right….that you are correct. And that is how you should go about taking charge of your own health.

I was frustrated for so long…that I finally became an expert. Not only an expert on my own health…but I compiled information from doctors, healers, and cutting-edge advocates to help others get questions answered about thyroid disorders.

I had access to medical studies and wrote down questions to ask my doctor. When that doctor wouldn’t listen, I went to another one until I finally found someone that I trusted…that listened and that cared.

I know that many women feel like I did. It is overwhelming. It makes you feel crazy on some days, sad on others and hopeless on many.

I don’t want anyone to feel that way, and that’s why I created The Thyroid Factor.

Consider it your “blueprint” of what to ask, what symptoms to look out for, and how to take back control,

Consider The Thyroid Factor your guide that you can take to your doctor, and use to get on a path to healing. Please check out more of my story when you click on the blue links above.
