Balance Hormones for Lasting Weight Loss

Posted: October 26, 2020

How many diets have you tried? One each year? More? Well, if you’re approaching 40, you’ll be excited to know how to balance hormones for lasting weight loss.

Let’s face it. Weight loss is easy. Keeping it off is the part that seems to elude most!

First of all, let’s shift what you think is the enemy.

It’s not just calories in, calories out. Forget that little wrist gadget that counts your steps and how many calories you’ve burned during your last workout.

Most of the things you’ve done from a sedentary life to too much cardio can backfire.

Most diets eliminate too many calories and force your body to slow down your metabolic rate instead of raising it!

Trendy diets, too much exercise, too little sleep and stress all contribute to hormones taking over and causing excess weight to be stored as fat.

If you are female, then it’s time to take the reins and balance hormones for lasting weight loss for once and for all!

Grehlin is the hormone that tells that brain that you want to eat. Unfortunately, this is that fat storing hormone that is connected with loss of sleep, cravings and belly fat.

Leptin is the hormone that suppresses the appetite and tells you when you are full. It also has shown in obese people to sometimes be resistant to this hormone.

When you spend too much time in your life yo-yo dieting, or chronically losing and gaining weight? You mess up these hormones and cause your body to be regularly “out of whack.”

The good news is this. If you start to shift the way you think and act on diet and exercise…you WILL lose weight, and it can be for good.

Here are the things you need to focus on that will make all of the difference in the world.

  1. Eat for energy. Eat superfoods, vegetables, less sugar and more colorful foods. Eat protein with every meal and snack. And limit or eliminate processed foods.
  2. Build muscle to raise your resting metabolic rate, and to “shrink wrap” your body to get leaner. Muscle takes up less space. Muscle makes your belly flatter, your buns firmer, and your whole body stronger and more capable.

When you incorporate these two things into a lifestyle…the hormonal weight gain will stop and you’ll feel confident and the weight falls off.
