Chronic Obesity Shortens Life

Posted: December 27, 2016

Weight loss and obesity are two topics that have the anti-aging doctors and specialists heads ready to explode! With waistlines growing larger and larger we now know that the epidemic of chronic obesity shortens life.

From fat kids, to mom’s on every diet after they turn 30, we are aging rapidly and and taking more medications than ever. Blood pressure and cortisol spikes, heart disease and ¬†inflammation… are all common in people over 50. It is said that the average 50 year old is on 5 medications.

The sad thing is that even though we KNOW that chronic obesity shortens life, we are still lining up at fast food restaurants and getting take out regularly. We claim we are too busy to cook, to busy to workout, and that “on Monday” or “starting in January” we will turn over the new leaf, and get healthy.

I have been in the fitness world as a personal trainer and coach to women for over 20 years. With a thyroid disorder that has most women exhausted and depressed, with weight gain and hormone imbalances, I have transformed my own body, and now coach women (and men) to do the same. Not with faddish diets and hours of exercise, but with LESS exercise and MORE real food.

Here are 3 top tips to losing the weight for good, so that you can live long and strong and ward off obesity related illness.

  1. Eat more foods without a label.

Single ingredients. Not processed. Organic. Grass Fed.

2. Add more organic vegetables to your diet.

Sneak veggies into smoothies, meatloaf, and casseroles. Veggies keep you full, ward off disease, and have many benefits that will ward off extra weight gain.

3.  Exercise using functional strength movements with bodyweight only.

As you get stronger, add in a set of dumbbells to torch more calories efficiently.

If you are not sure how to eat to get leaner, and have the energy to workout, there is an option to get a “done for you” meal plan as well, with recipes, smoothie lists, and options that anyone can make easily!
