Home workouts with no equipment can be just as beneficial as a workout in a gym. Your own bodyweight is enough weight to create resistance, get your heart rate going, and burn tons of calories.
Here is a workout that I guarantee will do all of the above.
Your equipment is your body! All you need is some floor space, a good pre-workout energizing shake about an hour before for fuel, (see my E-Book Smoothie Recipes for Optimal Health ), some great music, and either an interval timer, or use the countdown timer on your smart phone!
Warm Up
25 Jumping Jacks
10 Alternating lunges
10 Push ups
Hip Circles – 8 each direction
Shoulder shrug circles – Forward for 8/Backward for 8
Workout
Set timer for 30 seconds. Workout is 30 seconds on/30 seconds off. Do 5 exercises, then rest 2 minutes…repeat as many times as your body will allow!
Jumping Jacks for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Push Ups for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Bodyweight Squats for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Plank for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Alternating Lunges for 30 seconds
Rest 2 minutes
Jump Squats for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Push Ups for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Walking Lunges for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Plank for 30 seconds
rest for 30
Bodyweight Squats for 30 seconds
Rest 2 minutes
Lunge right, lunge left, Jump Squat 1X
Lunge right, lunge left, Jump Squat 2X
Lunge right, lunge left, Jump Squat 3X
Lunge right, lunge left, Jump Squat 4X
Lunge right, lunge left, Jump Squat 5 X
Repeat entire sequence 1-2 more times. (you can gauge your level after completing one round. If you are up for it, go again. This is a fast paced fat burner that will leave you sweating, breathing hard and muscles will be spent!)
This type of workout is a great way to workout at home, on vacation, or when crunched for time. No equipment needed, just your body, some fuel, and a good driving beat to get you pumped up to!
