How to Feel Energized – A Guide for Tired Women

Posted: September 30, 2023

Are you constantly exhausted, and wishing you could take a nap? Or, do you live on coffee, and feel on edge, wondering how you’ll make it through the day? From hormones to stress, and everything in between, I’m going to give you some tools on how to feel energized, so you can feel more vital within the week.

Energy comes from several sources and is zapped from certain habits.

Here are things to think about if you suffer from “no energy” and tips to feel revitalized:

  • Do you have trouble getting into a deep sleep? This may be anything from you can’t calm your brain down at night, to you had coffee too late, to you are low in progesterone.

Laptops, phones, and tech devices force your brain to stay “wired” for up to 45 minutes after you turn in.

  • Wind down with a real book, or some meditative music if getting to sleep is an issue. Drink some calming tea, or do some light and relaxing yoga.

If staying asleep is the problem, and you have practiced the above tips, have your doctor check your progesterone levels. Progesterone is the calming hormone and lowers after menopause.

  • Do you follow trendy diets, cut calories, and omit carbs? These are all energy zappers! Forget counting calories and cutting out food groups. Focus instead on what nutrients your body is missing.

Most women are missing out on energizing superfoods that can boost vitality and metabolism.

Add in more produce, eat more protein, and be sure to get enough healthy fats. Fiber from produce is necessary for elimination, and veggies boost energy!

  • Eat more berries, chia and flax seeds, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, avocados, spinach, beets, and grass-fed meats. Add in sweet potatoes, sprouted grain breads, and fermented foods for gut health.

Gut health is imperative for immunity, energy, and overall mood. I take this probiotic to keep my gut health in check. Add in fermented foods such as kefir, and kimchi to boost the good bacteria and your intestinal flora.

  • Ditch the diet sodas, and drink pure water, or tea with lemon. Dehydration is another key in why women are tired, and get headaches.

Stress can be so debilitating, that you don’t sleep, forget to eat, and are too tired to exercise.

  • Practice stress reduction with deep box breathing ( get an app on your phone), or take a five-minute walk outside. If you sit at a desk for long periods of time, set a timer for every 45 minutes to get up and stretch. This will help with how to feel energized better than another cup of coffee.

How to feel energized and stay energized is a combination of taking in healthy nutrients, calming our brain, and keeping our body active. Even if you feel too tired to workout, a quick brisk walk will revive you. Get your blood flowing and practice this daily to ward off stress, boost endorphins and feel better.
